A painter of landscapes, Selena Allan was born in Detroit, Michigan and in the 1920s lived in Kansas City, Missouri while spending many of her summers in Long Beach, California. She was married to artist Charles Beach Allan She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, with Louis Soutter in Paris, and with Birger Sandzen. She was a member of the Laguna Beach Art Association in California.
