b. 1974, St. Louis
De’Joniero Jones was born in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1974. He was raised on the border of Wellston and University City. Graduating from Parkway West High School in 1993, Jones pursued the clothing business before shifting focus to his own art and design style. His paintings and mixed-media artwork have been shown in a wide variety of galleries and venues, including the Urban League (2005), Jefferson Underground (2006), Art Co-Op (2007-11), Sheldon Concert Hall (2009), Art Lofts (2011-14), Grand Center (2011), and the Regional Arts Commission (2014). After heart surgery in 2012, Jones expanded the thematic scope and stylistic methods of his artwork, which has served as a form of therapy.
