Frank Nuderscher, a native St. Louis artist whose career spanned more than fifty years, is known for his paintings of the Ozark landscape and industrial scenes of St. Louis. Largely self-taught, he was the last surviving member of the Riverfront Art Colony and maintained a studio in the Granite Building at Fourth and Market Streets.

In 1936, Nuderscher served as supervisor of a WPA art project. He was a member of the National Association of Mural Painters and the St. Louis Art Guild, from which he earned ten first prizes. He also served as president of the Independent Artists of St. Louis.
